Traces in the Wind
A Dance Performance by Cecilia Xuetong Feng on the Spree
Windy Days is a dance performance by artist Cecilia Xuetong Feng dealing with memory, loss, and the hidden footprints of history. At Hošek Contemporary—a gallery and project space housed in a boat floating on the Spree—the work unfolds in seven fragments that oscillate between order and chaos, carried by movement, live music, and the subtle dynamics of the water. Inspired by historical protest dances such as the Chilean Cueca Sola, Windy Days evokes stories that have been repressed or forgotten and examines the social dynamics that bring communities together and tear them apart. Performers Chelsea Reichert and Alexz Grieco imbue these stories with physicality and presence, while Marta-Liisa Talvet’s live soundscapes transform the wind itself into a participant. (jw)
