Lucinda Childs and Dance On at the Radialsystem

New York choreography icon Lucinda Childs is returning to Berlin with a new work: together with dancer Miki Orihara and the Dance On Ensemble, she is premiering “STEIN” - a choreographic reflection on text, time and transformation, inspired by a work of literary modernism by Gertrude Stein. The movement is complemented by video art and sound compositions by Hans Peter Kuhn to create a finely composed overall experience. The evening showcases three historical works by Childs from the 1970s, which bear her unmistakable signature: formally lucid and imbued with quiet, choreographic rigor. The evening will oscillate between a retrospective and a new beginning - with dancers whose experience permeates every gesture. (jw)
