The Third Transcontinental: In the Footsteps of Heritage, Identity, and Colonialism

The Third Transcontinental, under the theme Mein. Dein. Unser!? (Mine. Yours. Ours!?), will take place from September 30 to October 4, 2026, at the Humboldt Forum. The international festival for dance, performance, and theater gathers works from four continents that explore questions of history, cultural heritage, and colonial continuities. The program includes, among others, Shel We by Tupua Tigafua, a tribute to the American author and cartoonist Shel Silverstein, Lagos Is a R.A.V.E. by Qudus Onikeku, a choreographic manifesto for the Nigerian metropolis, and Combat des lianes by Zora Snake, which addresses the resistance of the indigenous Baka communities of Central Africa against rapidly advancing deforestation.
