Iconic Rule-Breaking
Antonia Baehr, Jule Flierl, Claire Vivianne Sobottke, and Hermann Heisig Present a Berlin Premiere at HAU
Gut Gemacht! Eine Versuchsanordnung über Werteverschiebung (Well done! An experimental arrangement on shifting values) by Antonia Baehr, Jule Flierl, Claire Vivianne Sobottke, and Hermann Heisig is a playful performance exploring evaluation, deviation from norms, and artistic freedom. The starting points are the evaluation principles of French Fluxus artist Robert Fillius – “well done,” “poorly done,” and “not done” – as well as iconic rule-breaking from the 1980s, from artist Gabriele Stötzer to the artist group and music band Die Tödliche Doris. The performers adapt their works, develop them further, and then evaluate them in turn. With grotesque dances, defiant singing, and absurd tutorials, the result is a humorous and highly political evening that poses the question as to who determines what art is allowed to do—and what it must do—today.
