Fissures in the Present
Radialsystem's New Program Series
With wielding fissures—carving cracks in the surface of the now, Radialsystem is launching a new program series that focuses on the body as a site of vulnerability, resistance, and imagination. Opening the series, in Adorno, Alice Ripoll is searching for a possible “we” that goes beyond uniformity and, using urban dance languages and ornamental gestures, creates a dynamic image of collective difference. With Mille et Une Nuits, Sorour Darabi presents an immersive opera for the 21st century that reimagines Scheherazade as a queer myth and lends poetic expression to the trans voice. The series is complemented by the dialogue formats Embodied Practice, featuring workshops for sharing physical practices, and Local Hosting, featuring discussion formats between artists, local actors, and the audience.
