Experience and Discover Dance
The PURPLE Festival Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary
For the tenth time, PURPLE welcomes young people to experience the diversity of contemporary dance. Eleven international productions are dedicated to themes such as friendship, identity, and community. The anniversary edition opens with Witch Hunting (10+) by the French par Terre / Anne Nguyen Dance Company, an energetic mix of hip-hop and African dance. For the youngest audience members, the Spanish production The Cat who wanted to change her tale (5+) by Thomas Noone features oversized figures representing courage and self-determination. In WUW – Wind and Wall (10+), the Korean duo ZINADA tackles the inner conflicts and self-empowerment of the younger generation. Workshops and discussion formats round out the program and are an invitation to discover and experience dance together. (jw)
