The Berlin dance scene is significantly influenced by the internationality of its artists. This makes it all the more difficult to understand the complex landscape of dance funding in Berlin. This workshop provides a simple overview of the funding structures for the independent dance scene in Berlin. Participants are invited to share experiences from their countries of origin, thereby developing a broader understanding of international funding structures in dance. The aim is not only to encourage Berlin-based dance professionals to apply for funding, but also to help them navigate the funding system more confidently, especially in challenging times.
The workshop is free of charge and will be held in English.
Jasna L. Vinovrški is a performance artist, choreographer, and lecturer who grew up in Zagreb and emigrated to Germany after the collapse of Yugoslavia. After living in various places throughout Europe, she moved to Berlin in 2008 and founded “Public in Private” together with Clément Layes. Together they run the PiP studio in the Atelierhaus am Flutgraben and organize events such as 3AM, Montag Modus, and Flutgraben Performances. Since 2020, she has also been politically active with the ZTB, the AG Tanzförderung (dance promotion working group), and the AG Tanz und Elternschaft (dance and parenting working group).

Directions
The Uferstudios for contemporary dance are best reached by public transport via the Pankstraße U-Bahn station (U8; bus lines M27 and N8) as well as the Osloer Straße U-Bahn stations (U8 and U9; tram lines M13 and 50; bus lines 150, 255, N8, N9, and N52) and Nauener Platz (U9; bus lines 247, 327, N9).
The Osloer Straße U-Bahn station has an elevator and a tactile guidance system for the visually impaired. From here, it is about 600 meters to the Uferstudios.
The Pankstraße U-Bahn station recently received an elevator and a tactile guidance system. It is approximately 400 meters from the Uferstudios.
The Nauener Platz U-Bahn station is about 700 meters from the Uferstudios and has an elevator and a tactile guidance system.
The Uferstudios site itself does not have a tactile guidance system.
If needed and upon prior arrangement, pick-up from a U-Bahn station or from the entrance of the Uferstudios can be arranged.
Information about the Studio/Room
Seminar Room 1 is located above the kitchen and is accessible only by stairs.
Accessible Restrooms
There are two accessible and gender-neutral restrooms on the premises, both with step-free access. The door width of each restroom is 0.95 meters. The toilets are located in the foyer of Studios 3, 4, and 5, as well as in the extension of the Heizhaus complex (near the chimney), which is accessible via a 1.2-meter-wide ramp with a 5.2% incline and a length of 6.60 meters.
